How can I reduce the noise from outside, such as traffic or planes overhead?

Where can a VELUX Sun tunnel be installed?

In residential housing with high profiled roofing material with a roof pitch of 15°-60°. Flat roofing material requires a roof pitch of 35°-60° (special installation instructions are available for this situation). A VELUX Sun tunnel is to be installed in rooms centrally placed in the house with no other daylight source and where no view to the outside world is required; it offers natural light into small dark spaces with no other option than artificial light.

If my view is obscured by condensation what can I do?

For condensation on the glass inside the room
If you experience condensation on the side of the glass inside the room, please see our useful hints on reducing this.

If condensation is occurring between the two panes of glass
Clouding or fogging of an insulating glass unit occurs when there is a break in the inner seal of an insulated glass, and as a result condensation forms between the two panes. This may obscure the view and affect the thermal efficiency of the glass.

Our VELUX technicians can replace the double glazing using the latest energy efficient panes, produced specifically for VELUX roof windows. VELUX replacement glazing is guaranteed for a further ten years.

My children often play in the room that has VELUX roof windows. How can I make the room safer?

For added safety our technicians can fit either a security lock or opening restrictor to your window as long as it's not a fire escape window. Fitting PROTEC-STAR glass with its laminated inner pane also provides additional safety.
